Backwell Parish Hall offers a variety of well-equipped spaces suitable for a wide range of leisure, sport, and community activities. Whether you’re planning a class, hosting an event, or running a regular group, our flexible facilities can be tailored to your needs.

Main Hall

Capacity: 200 people
Pricing: £16.00-£20.00 per hour

The main hall can be used for performances, exhibitions, physical activities and parties. The hall measures 14m by 7.5m and has a capacity of 200 (or 125 if seated with tables). The hall offers disabled access and a well-equipped kitchen with commerical appliances and fittings. There is a data projector and a drop-down screen in front of the stage. The suspended floor of the hall is wood and although old is well suited to dancing. High-speed broadband is available throughout the Hall.

Equipment & services

The kitchen is fully equipped and appliances include a large hob and oven, separate warming oven and a commercial dishwasher. There is ample crockery and cutlery for 100 diners and plastic plates and beakers for children plus more crockery for informal occasions. The kitchen is separated from the main hall by a retractable electric shutter and by the warming oven which acts as a counter and may be moved into the main hall.

Users of the Main Hall have use of a stage fitted with a small number of stage lights.

Committee Room 1

Capacity: 14 people
Pricing: £8.00 per hour

There is also a Committee Room with a capacity of 14, which can be hired separately for meetings or used as a break-out room to the main hall. This Committee Room has recently been fitted with a high-fidelity video conferencing system.

Equipment & services

A high-fidelity Barco ClickShare Video Conferencing System is fitted in Committee Room 1. There is high-speed broadband available throughout the Hall and Committee Rooms.

Committee Room 2

Capacity: 8 people
Pricing: £8.00 per hour

There is a second Committee Room with a capacity of 8, which can be hired separately for meetings or used as a break-out room to the main hall. This Committee Room has an adjacent toilet, and a door directly onto the stage, so it can be used as a dressing room for the stage. There is no step-free access to this room.
